December marked a meaningful close to the year for singer-songwriter MAKIE, highlighted by the release and debut of her original holiday song, “Good Old Fashioned Christmas,” and a series of special live performances across Georgia.

Released during the holiday season, “Good Old Fashioned Christmas” arrived as an unexpected gift—an idea that first took shape in the middle of summer and quickly became a nostalgic celebration of Christmas joy. Inspired by the warmth and innocence of 1940s holiday classics, the song places family and the true meaning of the season at center stage.
Rooted in tradition, the track reflects on what endures beyond the decorations and gifts. While toys and trinkets may fade, the moments we share—and the memories we carry—are what last.
“This song truly felt like a gift from heaven when it came to me,” MAKIE shares. “I wanted it to feel timeless—full of warmth, nostalgia, and the kind of joy that comes from being together. Christmas traditions matter because they remind us of what lasts.”
MAKIE was honored to debut the song with a live performance at the Chick-fil-A Headquarters Christmas Devotional, shared alongside CEO Bubba Cathy and Cindy Cathy—a fitting setting for a song centered on faith, family, and togetherness.
Southern Roots Christmas Show – McDonough, GA
Later in the month, MAKIE co-hosted the Will Turpin Christmas Show at Southern Roots Tavern alongside Will Turpin and Brian Collins.
The evening featured performances from artists affiliated with Real People Music Productions, celebrating the collaborative spirit of the local music community. The night concluded with a festive Christmas jam led by Turpin, bringing all performers together in a joyful finale.
As the year came to a close, December reflected the heart of MAKIE’s work—music rooted in storytelling, faith, and connection. The momentum carries forward into the new year as she continues work on her forthcoming vinyl album, Constellations.
