“Bloom Wild” — A Song for Growing Up (and Letting Go)
“Bloom Wild” is a tender, hopeful anthem written by MAKIE for her stepson and nephew as they graduated high school—and for every young person finding their way in an increasingly complex world. The song also serves as a gentle reminder to adults that life doesn’t require having everything figured out in order to move forward with courage and heart.
Rooted in encouragement and freedom, “Bloom Wild” celebrates becoming who you are without fear or apology. Its message speaks across generations, offering reassurance to those just beginning their journey and those still learning as they go.
“I wrote this song for my stepson and nephew as they were graduating,” MAKIE shares. “It’s for them—and for all kids growing up in this crazy world. And honestly, it’s for us adults too, because we all need the reminder that we don’t have to have it all figured out.”
Adding an especially personal touch, MAKIE’s five-year-old daughter can be heard at both the beginning and end of the track. Originally invited to sing along with the chorus, she instead chose to make up her own lyrics—an unscripted moment that MAKIE chose to keep.
“She insisted on doing it her way,” MAKIE says with a smile. “She’s such a free spirit—it was too cute not to share.”
With its blend of warmth, vulnerability, and quiet joy, “Bloom Wild” reflects MAKIE’s gift for storytelling and her belief in growth that unfolds naturally, in its own time. The song stands as both a blessing and a benediction—an invitation to grow freely, bravely, and true.
